Anthropologist Kristoffer Schmidt leads a life of exotic adventure -- the kind Corky Corcoran can only dream about in her suburban domestic chaos. Finding little glamour in writing "Household Hints" for the local paper, she seeks to broaden her horizons by auditing Kris's college course -- and unwittingly becomes a specimen of "California culture" worthy of his special research!

Kris outstrips Corky's wildest fantasies by initiating a courtship of aching tenderness and staggering sensuality.
