精諳保全系統，在政府的召喚下出任多樁危險任務，拳腳俐落的大姊 Sarah，在 Drake Sisters 系列的第一本書 Magic in the Wind 中以女主角的身分率先登場－－除了發揮特殊稟賦幫助鎮民之外，她同時也是被惡人追逐的男主角 Damon 的保鑣和救星。
替政府工作，腦中裝有許多重要的國防機密，曾因此而被敵人綁架折磨，目睹助手被殺，背負著罪惡感及夢魘，身心殘破，“退休” 後來到加州的 Sea Haven 小鎮想藉著隱遁的生活擺脫過去。但是當鎮民呢喃著「Sarah 回來了」的聲音傳到他耳際，然後好奇心和某種神奇的魔力引導他走向崖邊的那幢 Drake 大宅，象徵預言的大門主動為他開啟，女主人的那兩條大狗也搖著尾巴歡迎他之時......Damon Wilder 發現他渴望的低調平靜生活，迅速化為泡沫.....
Magic in the Wind，對我來講唯一的缺憾，不是因臀腿受重創而自此成了跛子的男主角無法抱起女主角 Sarah
，也不是七姊妹中的三個未露臉，更不是 Damon 和 Sarah 的溫存場面不夠痲辣.....
。至少在我心目中，她的理性和韌性都比老二 Kate 和老三 Abigail 強。
而是篇幅著實太短啦，料不夠多，很難滿足口癮。
不過我必須說，這個故事的女主角 Sarah 很棒
事有輕重緩急，既然先前編印在 Lover Beware 合輯裡的 Magic in the Wind 我已經蠶食鯨吞過兩遍，那麼在收到這個短篇故事的單一再版本之後對我來說最重要和最緊急的事，當然是先翻閱先前曾提到的new bonus chapter 囉！
雖然僅有短短十頁不到，無法療飢止渴，但看完那額外的紅利章節之後，依然忍不住露出被迷昏頭的傻笑。
表面上，那個 new bonus chapter 的焦點是糾纏著男主角 Damon 的「死神陰影」，以及當時已回到 Sea Haven 小鎮上的四個 Drake Sisters 運用她們的天賦，連同尚未返鄉的其他三個姊妹，齊力對抗那個「陰影」的過程。
然而啃噬完畢後，我對於誰是那個章節的真正核心，無絲毫疑問。
Sea Haven 鎮的警長 Jonas 以及他點滴顯露跡象的 psychic 潛能，才是這個額外訊息的主軸。
顯然地，隨著 Jonas 與 Hannah 的故事即將在 2007 年春天登場，作者覺得有必要畫龍點睛，讓新舊粉絲對系列第五本的男主角 Jonas 有更多的認識
第一次看 Magic in the Wind 這個短篇故事的時候，我對 Jonas 印象不太好；在看完 The Twilight Before Christmas 之後，更認為他的行為舉止滴桃跋扈到讓人想扁他
（哼，Old Man Mars 年度一踹的對象應該是他而不是可憐的 Danny 才對）。他對待 Drake 家老五 Hannah 的態度，讓人不敢恭維；無論這其中有何種大誤解，他的傲慢、盲目和偏見才是癥結所在。
然而我對 Jonas 的觀感，在 Oceans of Fire 一書中有了大幅的改變。或許因為他對和他青梅竹馬一起長大的 Drake 七姊妹的保護慾更加突顯，在頤指氣使之中流露出對她們安危的關切，以及那份願意為她們赴湯蹈火的決心。儘管表現得像蠻橫暴躁的大狒狒，他對 Hannah 的奇特感情卻不難在字裡行間察覺出來。
Drake Sisters 系列的第四本書，亦即擁有神奇醫療天賦的老四 Libby 的故事，Dangerous Tides，預計會在 2006 年 6 月份上場
