這系列最喜歡的就是這本書，男女主角的Love Scenes是我為認為愛慾描寫得最喜歡的，把男主角想愛而不敢愛的心境描寫得相當好。
女主角從小就愛上男主角，可是父親卻為了聯盟而將她許配給別國王子，男主角因自己的地位較低，不敢接受女主角，對女主角的一再示愛不敢更進一步，為了讓女主角可以不要聯姻而自己跑去刺殺拿破崙，雖然後來失敗了，但是這是他目前唯一能做的最大努力。
後半部男女主角的私情被國王發現，國王雖然震怒但只能讓雙方結婚，男女主角就為了此事開始有裂痕，後來女主角還被未婚夫施虐那段也是很可憐，所以我重讀都只看前半段的，實在不敢看後面。
